The third and final part of 'An Introduction to Small Talk' will look at some of the more advanced small talk skills.

Students will learn how to use back-channeling to express interest in a conversation and improve the quality of their small talk.

The course will also look at body language, how to develop small talk, and direct conversations.

Lastly, the course will consider which topics are acceptable for small talk and which are not, and briefly look at small talk and culture.

An Introduction to Small Talk Part Two is the second of three spotlight courses on how to make small talk.

Part Two will look at:

• The importance of questions
• Open-ended vs. closed-ended questions
• Structuring questions
• Keeping conversations going
• Sharing information
• Moving on from small talk

It will also offer audio of example conversations, role plays and phrases to help with intonation and allow students to sound more like a native speaker.

An Introduction to Small Talk Part One is the first of three spotlight courses on how to make small talk.

Part One will look at:

• What small talk is
• Why it is so important
• Greetings
• Goodbyes
• Small talk structure

It will also offer audio of example conversations, role plays and phrases to help with intonation and allow students to sound more like a native speaker.

This course will give you an essential foundation in small talk, allowing you to develop your skills further in parts two and three.
